The feature is being built as a hybrid production, giving artists the expressive qualities of frame-by-frame animation while using CG tools and cinematic camera techniques where they add value.

The studio spent roughly three years developing tools and processes because standard software did not provide the exact visual language the filmmakers wanted. The reported pipeline brings together Toon Boom and Photoshop with Katana, Arnold, Maya, Blender and Nuke.
